  • This picture has been in my family for about 100 years and is really fragile. I don't want to let it out of my hands. Can you guarantee that it will be okay?

    Yes. Foto Doctor takes very good care of all photographs it receives.

  • What is involved in the photographic restoration process?

    The image is scanned into a computer file. Then color adjustments are made if necessary. Images are digitally enhanced and edited with Adobe Photoshop. Spots can be removed. Scratches and tears can be camouflaged or removed.

  • What about prices?

    Prices vary depending on the size of the image.


  • Can Foto Doctor make copies of slides and negatives?

    Yes, slides and negatives can be reproduced and stored in computer files. The files can be transferred onto CDs.

  • Can prints, slides, or negatives be copied onto CDs?

    Yes, the copied prints, slides and negatives can be saved into computer files and transferred onto CDs.

  • Do you repair the actual photograph?

    No. The customer gets a copy of the picture along with the original photograph back.


  • The image is really old and I don't want to leave it on the premises. Can I take it with me?

    Yes. It can be scanned and you can take it with you upon the initial visit.

  • Can a person/object be removed from an image?

    Yes. The copied picture can be edited with people and objects removed from the foreground or background.

  • Can a person/object be added to an image?

    Yes. A person or object can be pasted into the foreground or background of the copied picture.

  • If I want a picture enlarged will it cost extra?

    Yes. Prices vary depending on the size of the photograph.

  • There are spots on the background and a crack on my face. Can you remove the crack if I give you another picture to study as you are repairing it?

    Yes, Foto Doctor can remove the crack using another image for reference. Foto Doctor can also remove the crack or scratch without the use of another picture for reference.

  • What kind of paper do you use?

    Foto Doctor prints photographs on the finest Kodak laser print papers.

  • Can you turn a black and white photo into color?

    Yes. Foto Doctor can colorize a black and white photo.
